Why doesn’t everyone know about these?
Because we live in a society that dictates that you cannot
get quality from Dollar Stores.
Ask any right self-proclaimed yuppie if he shops his
eyeglasses at the Dollar Tree and he will outright laugh in your face.
Thing is reading glasses are a bit problematic since you don’t
wear them all the time.
You only wear them when you read and if you don’t have an
existing eye problem such as I have by having been near sighted all my life, then
you take these off and on, leaving more room for breakage and loss.
If you lose a pair of glasses that are $125 you might find that a bit disheartening, however if you lose a pair worth $1.25, then it makes it a bit more tolerable.

Everyone thinks that getting rich means making more money or winning the lottery.
It does not necessarily have to be the case.
Getting rich for me in the last few years is getting rid of recurring expenses. And the way I have done this is by getting rid of my cable bill.
That $90 dollar a month bill was really starting to aggravate me, since we only used to watch about 3 or 4 channels of the so called 650 we had to choose from.
The Cable company made it so that you had to pick the different packages at the time even if each package only had 1 real channel you wanted to watch. It became pretty pricey to watch TV. But everyone did it! Right?
It made for an expensive distraction.

Giving up stuff has gotten easier over the years. The open ongoing giveaway box has been a recurring thing in our house now for quite a few years.
In my series I like to show you what I have been giving away every week, because it’s sometimes fun to go through and try to rationalize what you bought and why?

I watched a video by a fellow creator whom we call “Money Mom”.
Dawn talked about the fact that we suddenly feel the need to buy stuff when it comes on sale.
One thing she mentioned is that this
is a way for the companies to get you to buy, by having sales that will soon end.
This puts an urgency to get it before it runs out.

Yes you can.
If you had told me 3 years ago that I would have been debt free from a crushing $60000 worth of debt and only had a small mortgage payment to make, I would have halfheartedly believed you.
Because to tell the truth I never thought we would ever be out of debt.
One small step in the right direction is all we needed to get us on our way to debt freedom.
At first we kept each other going and then finally we just wanted to see if we could do it.

It’s funny how you will overspend on the stupid stuff.
10 thousand items from the Dollar Store, but you seldom invest in the stuff that could actually help you.
Such was the case with us. For years now, every time summer comes around, my husband says.
“I should buy a bike. I use to love biking as a kid.”
But having been $60,000 in debt kinda stops you sometimes from the bigger ticket items thinking that somehow, the death through a thousand cuts (buying a whole bunch of unneeded cheap crap) would somehow make it okay.
