Finding Happy

The Healing of Green!

As I am watching summer crawl by and enjoying the bright sunny days, I wonder why so early in the mornings while sipping my coffee I find myself enjoying the sight of it so much! I’ve come to realize that the color green plays a huge part of it. I’ve looked at many sites. There is something called color therapy.

Green is known as the color of balance and harmony. I have to agree and I’m positive a few people I have in my life would agree too for when the cold harsh winter sets in, I know a good friend of mine goes to green houses to recharge. Seems green is the color we both miss the most from November to April every year.

Here is what I read from others concerning green:

Healing properties: Green is the color of Nature and the Earth. It is balance and harmony in essence and possesses a soothing influence upon both mind and body. It is neither relaxing nor astringent in its impact.Green can be used for just about any condition in need of healing.

And here from another site:

Green is a balancing colour, in the middle of the visible spectrum. The higher three colours are known as the “cool” colours and are calming in effect, the lower three are known as the “warm” colours and have a stimulating effect. Green is the balance between these two.

I have always loved the color green but even more so when I started to crave it after a long winter. Little did I know I was craving the balance of nature.

So as I sit looking out my window this morning feeling completely in sync with my color green and the beautiful summer sky. I guess I know why?

What is your favorite color and can you find out why it makes you feel so good? Put a whole new spin to that question I think.

Have a great Monday everyone!
